During my childhood (the 1990s), when we did good in school exams, my parents used to give us (my sister, two brothers, and I) ₹ 10 each as an appreciation.
From that money, I used to spend ₹ 3 to watch a movie in a nearby theater. I still have amazing memories of talkies in my home town Paratwada (MH – India).
We used to sit in front, on the ground, and used to enjoy the movies. It was a great feeling of accomplishment.
Marathi, Hindi and Hollywood movies inspired me a lot to become filmy. Action-packed climax, heartbreaking scenes, ‘Dishoom’ fight scenes, memorable dialogues, emotions, drama, and melodious songs influenced me enough to add a additional dimension to my thought process. Nowadays Tollywood and other south Indian movies are breaking the path and adding an extra flavor.
I always thought (and still do) that one day I will make a movie - my 70mm dream. I will have the hero run from one specific angle, will have song with the hero-heroine dancing around trees, full-on drama and finally, hero will fight with the villain to avenge the bad things done and get back his heroine 😊.
My mother and I used to watch late-night movies on Doordarshan. I still remember, our laughter, our sobbing to the emotional scenes, especially the end scene from the Hindi movie “Amar Prem”. She used to tell me various stories, we still spend time sharing information about movies and acting, and she always inspired me to chase my dream.
My brothers and I used to discuss movies, songs, and even used to write songs and screenplays. I wish I had those written notebook papers with me. Truly, memories to cherish!
Then came the engineering days and how crazy it became - watching movies with friends and especially with my cousin brother Anup. Late night studies and new movie releases was a big question of “to be or not to be”. The best parts were, watching early morning (6 AM) shows in the theater, waiting in long lines for tickets, talking to complete strangers during intervals, watching 2 to 3 shows in a stretch, whistling, repeating famous dialogues of actors, humming song tunes. Sometimes, I just used to go to the theater alone and watch a movie.
Kinda fun, right? Yes, I am a movieholic and I am passionate about movies.
I really enjoy watching movies and pretty much learned a lot from it. It encourages and challenges me.

Indeed, we all have a purpose and part to play. Dreams are a great source of inspiration to me, transforming these dreams into stories is a source of great joy. Stories and Dreams are an integral part of our life and I am chasing a dream to make a movie, someday, which I want to watch in a theater - my movie on the big screen.
My friend and I have started “Dreaming Duo’s” as a content creator in the space of audio/video visualization to follow this passion and chase our dreams. This is my first step.
Its splendid journey so far and able to create 2 Music videos, 3 short films, 12 interview videos and other 17 interesting videos.
One of the accomplishments is that my very first Marathi song “Sudhakara” won the best music video award and was screened at “CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2019” in Pune on the big screen. The most cherishing and proud part was my mother received the award on my behalf. It's truly an amazing feeling and at the same time a bit strange to watch oneself on the big screen. One part accomplished!
Stories are all around us. Everyone has their own story. Every person strives for a something, they have thoughts, feelings, plans and expressions for it. Also, people need stories, stories of hope, love, sacrifices, success, and sometimes failures, pain and sorrow.
I always believe that if you have a strong will or if you strongly feel about your dream, the universe will always find a way to make the connection even when all hopes seem to be lost.
“Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho … to poori kainath use tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai”.
In the end, everything has a happy ending, and I am not giving up until my 70 mm dream is fulfilled, Picture abhi baki hain mere dost!
